Wacom Announces new Cintiq 12WX

Wacom Cintiq

I’ve always been a fan of Wacom tablets. There’s really no better input device for uses such as Photoshop or ZBrush, and now they’ve introduced their newest – the Cintiq 12WX. It features a hi-resolution 12 inch wide screen display, and 1024 levels of sensitivity.

From the press release:

Pressure-sensitivity with 1,024 levels

Create natural-looking pen, brush, and eraser strokes.

Tilt Sensitivity

Tilt your input device in either direction and create natural-looking pen, brush, and eraser strokes.

Rotation Sensitivity

Some input devices can be rotated along their axis and with rotation-sensitivity your Cintiq can recognise this rotation and transform it in some applications (such as Painter 9) into rotating brush strokes.

Tool ID

With Tool ID each Cintiq 21UX input device can be individually programmed and configured for each application. And these functions are automatically activated as soon as the application starts.

ExpressKeys

The ExpressKeys are a set of buttons located on both sides of the tablet. Assign your favourite keys or macros to these buttons and start to forget your keyboard.

Touch Strip

The Touch Strip allows you to use your finger directly on the tablet similar to a notebooks´ touchpad. Zoom in and out within your image or scroll in text documents or PDF editors with a single sweep of your finger.
